Steffany never planned to work in adoption. Her journey began supporting young women facing unexpected pregnancies—scared, judged, and often alone. Wanting to stand beside people during their most vulnerable moments, she pursued social work and eventually found herself in adoption.

Just nine months into her first job running a child placement program, she realized something needed to change. Expectant mothers were choosing adoptive families from one-page bios with no photos, stories, or meetings. This didn’t sit right with her.

She introduced photo books, encouraged honest conversations and interactions, and created spaces where trust could grow, and bonds could form—recognizing that adoption isn’t a transaction but a lifelong relationship.

Years later, she experienced adoption from the other side when she and her family welcomed their daughter Shayla. That moment confirmed her belief that adoption transforms lives, creates families, and changes people in unexpected and unforgettable ways.
